Livestrong 2009

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for their support this year for Livestrong. Every year Sandy and I head to Austin to raise money for the Lance Armstrong Foundation. We run a 5K the first day and then do the bike ride on Sunday. We have both been touched by cancer so your support really means so much to us. This year there were 3200 runners and 3800 riders. The Austin event raised $4 million alone and when you total it with the other 3 events (San Jose, Seattle and Philly) a total of $8 million was raised! One of the more memorable moments for me every year is at the end of the bike ride. With about 100 yards left to ride, the road is split in two with the cancer survivors staying to the right. They each get special recognition from the PA announcer as wells as a yellow rose when they finish. It is a really touching experience. Thank you again and we will see you next year!
