Big Brother

Conor is smitten with his baby sister. He cannot resist squeezing her, kissing her face and hugging her. Sometimes he's a little rough, but she doesn't seem to mind. He's so proud to be a big brother and is so eager to help us with her. Conor has adjusted incredibly well considering he has been an only child and grandchild for the past 4 years. We're so impressed with him. It's hard to believe he was once her age. Time sure flies...

Baby Jules

Although Baby Jules has only been with us for 10 weeks we cannot imagine what our lives would be like without her. She's been an absolute joy from day one. From the moment we met Jules we knew she would have quite the personality.

When she cries she snorts...its hysterical. She is incredibly dramatic. She has a very healthy appetite. She will go from being perfectly content to screaming her head off and shoving both fists in her mouth in a matter of seconds. If I wait too long to make her bottle she will pull my hair as hard as she can and scream in my ear...its so painful, but so cute!

She cannot seem to get the hang of her pacifier...she smacks it really loud and cannot seem to keep it in her mouth very long. She's finally found her thumb. We're hoping she'll have better luck with that (she still smacks her thumb though).

Jules LOVES bath time. She will sit in the tub and run her fingers through the water. She looks so peaceful that I hate to disturb her.

Around 7 weeks she finally began to enjoy the swing, this has made life a little easier for us.

At 8 weeks she began sleeping through the night. We just moved her to her crib.

Jules loathes tummy time...she will lay face down and cry until we pick her up...we're working on this.

Sometimes Jules will make sarcastic faces and roll her eyes...it cracks us up! But she has the sweetest smile. She has just started smiling and cooing at us. I never want to forget the look on her face and those precious sounds.

Jules is most comfortable in chaos: dogs barking, Conor yelling, music blaring, etc. If the house gets too quiet she gets upset. I'm astounded at how she is able to sleep so soundly with so much noise around her.

Everyday she makes me laugh. Overall Jules is a very happy, healthy, spirited baby girl.

What a Wonderful Christmas

This Christmas was a little different than most.  Because of the new addition, we decided it was best to spend Christmas up here.  It was weird having to be Santa-wrapping presents really late and putting them under the tree, eating the cookies that were left out and filling up the stockings.  I had never had to do any of those things before.

Conor had a wonderful Christmas.  He got cool toys, "awesome shirts" (as he puts it), a scooter, cool games, books...  I think he is still discovering stuff.

Jules had a great Christmas as well even though she doesn't know it yet.  She got some really nice clothes, a beautiful Clara doll from the Nutcracker (which has special meaning to Sandy and I) and toys.
