Spring Morning

I love this time of year because we can spend our mornings outside.  There is nothing quite like putting on some music, drinking some coffee and watching Conor play (shirtless).

Puree Party

We've really gotten into the whole Jessica Seinfeld (Deceptively Delicious) philosophy of pureeing vegetables and adding to your food.  Mommy and I are really enjoying the food; Conor not so much.  We've tried grilled cheese, pasta with alfredo sauce, pizza, mac and cheese and he just won't try them.  He really likes to help puree the vegetables, though!

Favorite New Toy

This Saturday we stopped by the Home Depot and there happened to be a workshop going on for kids.  We learned they have them every first Saturday of every month.  It's free for all and kids get to go build stuff with tools.  Unfortunately we had groceries sitting in the car so we couldn't stick around for it but they were nice enough to give us a car for Conor to build.

So we took it home and Conor and I got to work.  He did really well with the hammer, glue and stickers.  Conor just loves working with tools!  Here he is admiring the finished product.  That night he didn't want it to leave his side.  I went to check on him before I went off to bed and there it was sitting on his nightstand.

Quite the Character

One of the most amazing aspects of raising a child is to get to see them develop a personality of their own.  It of course started when he was just a baby but he is really coming into his own now.  We recently found out from his teacher that he is the jokester of the group.  At first I was a little taken aback because that wasn't how I perceived him.  But the more I think about it, I think she might be on to something.  He is constantly doing little things to get laughs whether it be putting on goggles and acting silly or breaking out in an impromptu dance.  Ever since he could talk he came up with sayings that would crack him up, i.e. we would tell him something and he would chime in "with underwear pants."  Needless to say, he keeps us laughing!
